Meet Your Therapist
Welcome to Everlight Counseling! I’m Emma Lubben, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and a Certified School Counselor with extensive experience working in diverse therapeutic settings. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Indiana University and my Master’s of Education in School and Community Counseling from Loyola University Chicago. Over the years, I have worked in various roles, including as an individual, family, and group therapist in a PHP/IOP program, supporting adolescents and adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges. Additionally, my experience spans residential treatment centers, therapeutic boarding schools, and wilderness therapy programs, all of which have shaped my understanding of effective therapeutic practices.
I have worked in the Chicago Public School system, where I received a professional distinction for my dedication and impact, as well as in several schools throughout Tampa Bay. This background uniquely positions me to support children and teens who are struggling in school due to behavioral concerns, emotional difficulties, developmental or learning challenges, or conflicts with peers and educators. I have the skills to collaborate with school staff, advocate for your child’s needs, and recommend practical strategies to improve their school experience and overall well-being.
While I have worked in a variety of settings, my true passion lies in supporting children, teens, and adolescents. I am inspired by their resilience, their ability to find light even during dark times, and their remarkable capacity for growth and laughter, even when faced with significant challenges. My goal is to help your child navigate their journey with strength, confidence, and a renewed sense of hope.
